Ryan and Beth Hornung both grew up in the southern United States, but met in Michigan, where they moved after marrying. They opened a home inspection company in Hamtramck, Michigan and after several years decided that they wanted to explore more of the world and headed to Central Asia. After coming to Kyrgyzstan in 2012 and teaching English for about a year, they fell in love with the land and the people and decided to call Kyrgyzstan home.
In 2013, Ryan and Beth opened their own car rental and adventure 4×4 company, Iron Horse Nomads. Ryan loves all things cars, motorcycles, and mountains and takes true pleasure in introducing people to the rugged land and nomadic culture in Kyrgyzstan.
Now Ryan and Beth also run Southside B&B, desiring to provide a relaxing, refreshing place for travelers to stay in Bishkek during their adventures around the country.
Ryan enjoys carpentry, cars, exploring new places, and history. Beth is an avid music lover, playing the violin and guitar, likes cooking, cards, kayaking, and exploring new places. In 2015, they became the proud parents of a joyful little baby boy.
